Myo New Street Square
When architects DMFK were appointed by workspace provider Myo to retrofit 3 New Street Square, a 2008 office development by Bennetts Associates, they leant into the building’s existing qualities while also introducing a softer and more natural aesthetic.

A natural refurbishment
Travertine was added to echo the building’s high-quality stone facade, while mid-toned oak and green planting were seeded throughout the development’s six storeys to match Myo’s aesthetic of elegant, serene spaces. As part of this refurbishment, The Furniture Practice was appointed to specify furniture and finishes from brands such as Fredericia, Audo, Andreu World and &Tradition – designs that offer a timeless aesthetic, driven by expert craftsmanship.
The Myo New Street Square redevelopment was designed as a response to the original architecture of its building. The building’s post-tension concrete frame and geometric exterior created a high-calibre interior in which architects DMFK could then create more natural, organic workspaces that could meet the demands of a contemporary development. To support this reimagination of the space, we worked with the design team to specify materials and colours that generated a sense of style and calm, pushing green and natural wood tones to the fore, complemented by bursts of sandstone and stainless steel. While Myo New Street Square is based just a short walk from bustling Chancery Lane and Farringdon, its natural, earth-toned interiors create an atmosphere of serenity throughout.
Wellbeing and sustainability
Myo’s development puts nature and wellbeing at the forefront of its aesthetic, but Myo New Street Square’s commitment to these ideas runs even deeper. The development has achieved the prestigious WELL Platinum certification for wellbeing, for instance, which ensures that the building is a positive, restorative space for its residents. To support this, we worked closely with the design team and our suppliers to guarantee that a significant proportion of furniture specified for the space have either low or no VOC emissions, as well as being cradle to cradle certified, to make sure that all materials are safe and healthy. Moreover, all of the specified pieces are grounded in robust craftsmanship and timeless design, ensuring they will last for years to come. Myo New Street Square represents not only an aesthetic refresh of the space, but also a commitment to meeting the highest possible standards for wellbeing and sustainability.
Flexibility by design
Throughout 3 New Street Square, Myo has prioritised flexible spaces that adapt to the requirements of contemporary work. Each floor of the development has communal breakout areas and amenity spaces, as well as rentable offices, so we specified versatile furniture pieces that can be quickly reconfigured to suit different occasions and needs. Architects DMFK have also added a new rooftop pavilion to the building, creating a wrap-around terrace offering views of St Paul’s, Houses of Parliament, and the London Eye. This terrace is a space for residents to relax and come together as a community, as well as to entertain clients, so we also provided adaptable outdoor furniture that can easily create different configurations to suit any occasion.
