Since its inception in 2003, the London Design Festival (LDF) has sought to celebrate and establish London as the world’s leading design destination. From September 14th to 22nd, LDF will return to the heart of the city with an exciting lineup of events, thought-provoking talks, and inspiring exhibitions and installations. Vert by Diez Office in partnership with OMC°C
Vert at Chelsea College of Arts’ Parade Ground is a sustainable red-oak glulam structure designed by Diez Office and OMCÅãC with AHEC. It features a biodegradable net planted with around 20 species, promoting urban cooling, enhancing biodiversity, and offering a community gathering space while exploring ecological resilience and urban development.

Duo by Melek Zeynep Bulut
Duo by Melek Zeynep Bulut is a suspended installation in The Old Royal Naval College’s Painted Hall. This minimalistic rectangular prism, inspired by ancient forms, uses magnets and sensors to create balance and harmony. The work responds to viewer interaction, altering its spatial rhythm, and embodies the concept of ‘two’—a dynamic dialogue between center and periphery.

Material Matters returns in 2024, continuing its mission to explore how materials shape society and drive creative solutions for a sustainable future.
This year’s fair unites over 50 leading brands, designers, makers, and organisations to celebrate the essential role of materials in our world. Set within the iconic Bargehouse at Oxo Tower Wharf on London’s Southbank, the event spans five floors, featuring innovative products, site-specific installations, curated exhibitor spaces, and an extensive talks programme. It serves as a hub for engagement, collaboration, and inspiration within the furniture, design, and architecture industries, with a strong emphasis on the industry’s responsibility in advancing the circular economy and highlighting the importance of material intelligence in our everyday lives.

"In the Making" at Material Matters
We are excited to have partnered with TP Bennett to bring a curated journey to this year’s Material Matters Fair. Set in Room 12 of Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf, ‘In the Making’ explores the ever-evolving relationship between materials, geography, people, and supply chains for commercial products.
Designed and curated by the sustainability team at TP Bennett in collaboration with TFP, guests will be guided through a series of zones featuring furniture, finishes, and products. Narrative zones will enhance supply chain transparency by examining components and materials, the design process, heritage and social impact, product evolution, and makers and making.
Exhibitors include: Arper, Camira x SAS, Florim, Fredericia, Humanscale, Mark Product x Bisley, Modus, Normann Copenhagen, Solus Ceramics, Reddie, Smile Plastics, Suru, and Atrium.

Rowac- Schemel: The Forgotten Bauhaus Workshop Stool by Labour and Wait
The iconic Rowac-Schemel, once used in the Bauhaus and across German factories, is back in production. Celebrating its timeless design, Labour and Wait will host the UK launch with an exhibition at Dover Street Market referencing its Bauhaus legacy, with an introductory talk by Alide and Dieter Amick, who revived the Rowac brand.
