NeoCon 2023 Highlights
Since 1969, NeoCon has served as a hub for the commercial design community - a platform that unites designers, architects, end-users, manufacturers and service providers in Chicago every year in June. This year the fair welcomed over 50,000 design industry professionals for the 54th edition of the event, addressing the key drivers shaping today’s built environment. From supporting diversity and user well-being, to a growing focus on power integration in products, read on for TFP US team's top picks from NeoCon.
CoLab – Senator
A product born out of extensive research, CoLab, designed by Pearson Lloyd in collaboration with Senator provides a modular, multi-functional furniture solution for today’s work or education environments. CoLab is adaptable to different postures and environments, includes integrated power, and can be easily broken down into individual components for ease of repair or recycling.
Beam – Nienkämper
Nienkämper presented Beam - a low footprint, compact and curvaceous seating collection offering versatile seating solutions. Beam is available as a single lounge chair and two or three-seaters with the option to add table elements too.
Pippin – NaughtOne
The cone-shaped lounge chair that combines comfort with flexibility, Pippin designed by Lucy Kurrein is a new launch for NaughtOne. The chair is moveable, thanks to its discreet wheels and convenient strap handle, features a removable cover and is built for longevity with easy disassembly factored in for end-of-life.
Allora Pouf – Dauphin Human Design Group
The Allora Poufs from Dauphin are stackable, upholstered stools prioritising flexibility and convenience in a workplace environment. Designed by Rüdiger Schaack, they are available in various fabrics and finishes and three size options, providing a versatile and agile addition to any space.
Capas – Davis Furniture
Capas is the latest addition to Davis Furniture's table collection. Designed by Jehs + Laub, its sleek design is crafted from welded sheets of solid aluminium sheets. The tables are available in three heights which can be nested together or used individually as a coffee or side table.
Kall – Kettal
Minimalist and designed for simplicity, Kall by Kettal’s in-house design team is their fresh take on a phone booth. Providing privacy through the side walls and curtain, the design also allows for openness with its wide glass door - creating a warm and welcoming aesthetic. The interior is highly versatile - electronic controls can adjust the table height and lighting, and the product is available in a variety of sizes.
Introducing 15 new products at NeoCon this year, Narbutas invited visitors to view the collection and meet some of the designers behind the pieces. Highlighting just two of the teams’ favourites - first is the Parthos moveable column which is filled with textile offcuts, aiding in the soundproofing of spaces. WORKLAB is a multifunctional furniture solution that creates a more dynamic workspace that allows for a seamless transformation from individual to team work.
