People: Jen Dunn, Head of TFP North

Meet Jen.

Northern girl Jen is born and bred in Liverpool, also spending her student life at the University of Liverpool. Jen migrated south and joined TFP London in 2016, but soon returned north to set up TFP Manchester in 2018. She now lives in Liverpool once again and heads up the team of 5 in Manchester, as well take on the role of Associate Director at the beginning of 2020.

What might we not know about you?

I do not have a sweet tooth at all! Would choose cheese over chocolate any day.

How did you end up working in the furniture industry?

I have always been interested in design, so my first job out of Uni was at the only design-led furniture store in Liverpool. I then flew the nest to London and found myself at TFP through a very good friend.

What do you like about working at TFP?

We are a very close team and everyone is always willing to lend a hand. We work extremely hard but have a lot of fun while we are doing it. I have had the opportunity to pursue my own ideas in opening the Manchester office with the full support and faith of our directors.

Are there any standout projects you’ve worked on?

It is difficult to pick but I would say that working on Link Group Leeds and Renaker’s Deansgate Square have been amazing. They are some of the first major projects for us following the opening of the Manchester office, so I am super proud of those.

Do you have a favourite supplier or product?

If my house were fully furnished in Carl Hansen, Artek and anything Eames I would be very happy.

Anywhere you’d recommend for a holiday (when we could travel a bit more freely)?

Sarlat-la-Caneda, France. The food is amazing, the wine is amazing and so many beautiful towns along the Dordogne to explore, by car or by canoe…

What are you most likely to be doing outside of work?

At the moment I love getting up to the lakes (outside of lockdown) for nice long walks with Albert my dog, and doing lots of DIY at the house to try and get through my endless to-do list. Cooking and baking will be keeping me busy again as soon as I have an oven!
